Makes Crowdfunding Approachable!

As someone who has a few ideas, but absolutely no business experience, I found this book gave me more confidence in taking my project to a crowdfunding platform. I've seen many campaigns that look like the product is good, but their page is lackluster or their community management is non-existent. They should have bought this book. On top of the good advice you'll find in this book, you'll also discover a great conversational tone to the writing itself. It's by no means a dumbed-down style, but it avoids making you feel like you should have gone to business school for 4 years if you want to understand the cryptic wisdom within this tome. I feel like I'm being talked through the process by another human being, which can be hard to achieve in a self-starting book. I've always liked the idea of crowdfunding my ideas as opposed to shopping investors, but I always felt like there is some step I was missing that was preventing me from starting in the first place. This book has helped me get over my own hurdle and start the process.

So happy I found this!!!

I picked up this book hoping to get some quick tips before launching my Kickstarter campaign, what I got was an incredibly wide-view into how and why crowdfunding works, and exactly how to make it work for me. Not only does this book give you the exact step-by-step process for launching a campaign (filled with strategies I've never heard of or would have thought of on my own), but it also goes into the philosophies and teaches you how to think about launching products. I feel like an expert in crowdfunding after reading it, and I'm ready to crush my campaign. This is a must-read for anyone who's getting ready to launch, or is interested in what the future of product launches will look like.

An Excellent Guide on Raising Money and Marketing Your Product

As a CPA I am skeptical by nature. I’m paid to be. So when a product “Under Promises and Over Delivers” I am delighted in addition to being surprised. Mark’s book is an excellent “how to” guide in several areas. Ralph Waldo Emerson’s timeless quote “Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door” is as much in play today as it was in the late nineteenth century when Emerson coined the phrase. I am not going to try an outline everything you will learn from this book. It would take too much time and I would miss important details. So, let me simply put it this way: If you have a product that you want to get to the market while understanding the nuances and requirements of the tricks and turns while raising money for advertising, branding, development, inventory, marketing, positioning, results, tracking (investors and sales), up/add-on/future sales - This is your Go To Guide. Start here!

Informative and Practical

I have read other books and articles on crowdfunding, and "Crowdfunded" introduces a very practical step by step way to set up your campaign. The other interesting point about the book is the part 5, "Next Steps" that focus on what happens after the campaign is ended (and probably fulfilled). That's something that I had never thought about, so well done Mark! :-) The introduction mentions the corona virus situation, and it makes the book so real for us!

A clear and thorough guide to product launches

Great resource for getting started with crowdfunding, or any product launch. This book not only takes you through every step of the crowdfunding process, providing tools and useful resources along the way, but also challenges the reader with exercises and thoughtful questions that must be considered for any product launch, crowdfunded or not. Pretty much any question you might have about crowdfunding will be answered in a clear and concise way - from the pros and cons of each platform, to what time of day is the best to launch your product. Each section also comes with examples from the author's own extensive crowdfunding experience. The book is easy to navigate, too, which makes it a useful reference once you're underway. If you're considering a crowdfunding campaign, this is a must-read.

Super valuable for anyone looking to launch a CF campaign!

If.you're thinking about launching a crowdfunding project or just want to know more about the industry, I cannot recommend this book enough! I've worked with an agency that does C.F. Projects as well as worked on large non-CF launches and am blown away at how spot-on Mark's strategy is. Beyond the strategy, he dives into the nuts and bolts of what creators really need to be focusing on as well as tell you the exact tools you need for success. Even if your not launching a crowd funding project, this is just a good business book. If you're still thinking about it, just read it and decided for yourself. It's not super long and the language is easy to understand and implement.

THIS IS THE BIBLE FOR CROWDFUNDING

This is not a book you simply read once and move on. If you're launching a product (or doing any digital marketing at all) this will sit on your desk with tabs, folded pages, highlighters, etc and serve as a useful guide. I'm normally very skeptical of marketing books these days. They generally push the same repurposed Gary Vee advice with a self-serving agenda. NOT THIS BOOK. Mark has laid everything on the table. I enjoyed seeing examples, screenshots, and real data. This is seriously a powerful weapon for anyone launching a product (physical or digital). Highly recommend.

Excellent book that helps project creators develop a solid foundation for their launch

This book might not go into the technical aspects of how Launchboom does their marketing work, but Mark Pecota gives a blueprint for the foundations to a successful campaign. I have consulted with almost 100 crowdfunding campaigns, some earning over $2,000,000, and also with those earning as little as $10,000, and there are definite differences in how these creators handled their projects and campaigns. Mark Pecato understands how to maximize success, and he explains it very well, simply, and in delectable detail. The value and depth contained in this book is a rare gem. As a professional marketer, I am surprised by the little tips and tricks scattered throughout this book. Some of these advanced techniques personally took me years of experience to figure out, such as: whitelisting emails after a recipient replies (not mentioned in the book, but try asking your lead to reply to the email in your blast or autoresponder!)... or, using the Suggestions engine on Facebook for advanced targeting.

A useful book for those wishing to create their own product

Overall, I really enjoyed Crowdfunded and can tell that the author, Mark Pecota, has some solid insights about how to utilize modern-day social media and advertising to test and launch new products. To the would-be reader –– the modern product life cycle consists of several phases, the first two phases are the development and introduction phase. This book focuses on the transition between these two phases and describes strategies and common pitfalls to avoid using real-world examples. Although the book comes from the perspective of using crowdfunding as a medium for launching a product, the strategies are applicable to non-crowdfunding approaches as well. As such, it is a useful book for any person who develops or markets products.

The Ultimate Guide To Getting Your Product Launched

The new economy is giving entrepreneurs more opportunities to take their ideas and products to market faster and easier than ever before. Using the power of crowdfunding is the best way to test the market's appetite with your MVP and then build it out to satisfy those interested. This book is the guidance needed to help you do just that. I felt like the detailed framework outlined to launch a product allowed the reader to go in with eyes wide open. If you're looking to launch a product through crowdfunding whether on your own or through a marketing agency, you should read this book first.
